Price & Fretwell are a family-owned and operated business based in Tibshelf (between Chesterfield and Mansfield). The company has been named Catering Butcher Of The Year 2020 with products achieving awards including The Great Taste Award. The company was also named as Employer of the Year Finalists in the Family Business Awards 2019.
Following a continued increase in sales, an afternoon shift has been established and the Company require a Factory Supervisor to oversee this shift. Previous experience in the Food Industry is preferred however training is provided for our bespoke systems.
Reports to: Factory Team Leader and Senior Management
Overseeing and managing a smooth and efficient factory production with a hands-on approach.
Reviewing all production processes with the Factory Team Leader to increase efficiency, productivity and quality while striving to lower cost.
Encouraging LEAN manufacturing and continuously improving culture.
Ensuring the effective implementation of the Company policies and processes and to work with the Operations Manager and Managing Director to develop these further.
Attending management meetings with members of Senior Management to highlight matters, discuss matters brought forward and to take agreed action.
Carrying out effective, planned team briefings in order to allocate work, set deadlines and inform employees of issues.
Ensuring that all customer order queries are communicated in detail to the morning shift.
Ensuring that any customer feedback, production issues and completed production tasks are communicated effectively to the morning shift.
Health & Safety:
To ensure the Company’s compliance with HAACP, RPA, FSA and Trading Standards paperwork.
To ensure the highest levels of Health & Safety are upheld by all.
To investigate ALL injuries and work-related illness.
To report all injuries and work-related illness.
To investigate all employees incidents including incidents involving possible misconduct.
To report all findings of incident investigations to Senior Management.
To carry out Health and Safety sweeps throughout the shift, highlighting and resolving any potential issues.
To ensure that all employees, contractors, visitors are wearing the appropriate PPE and to report any missing items or defects to the Operations Manager.
To manage employees, shift patterns from pre-shift to post-shift.
To ensure employees begin work promptly and investigate any absence or lateness.
To ensure that members of employees, contractors and visitors are supervised at all times.
To assist the Operations Manager in safely following the fire evacuation procedure should the Factory Team Leader be absent.
To ensure employees are trained to a high standard and reviewed against a company grading system.
Food Product Control:
To ensure product traceability procedure is maintained at the highest level and to ensure that the information used during the process is accurate.
To ensure product labels are accurate and used appropriately on every product.
To ensure that meat quality checks are carried out and to ensure customers specs are accurate and maintained.
To ensure that all stock is rotated accordingly.
To report all short-dated/overstocked products to the Factory Team Leader.
To discuss customer complaints/issues with the Factory Team Leader and Managing Director then implement ideas to prevent future reoccurrence on a daily basis.
To report all damaged or unusable supplier delivery items to the Factory Team Leader and Managing Director, then to ensure these items are isolated from other stock. Ensure that all damaged or unusable items are returned to the supplier.
To carry out maintenance checks on all Company machinery and equipment.
To report any damage/defects to the Factory Team Leader.
To carry out temperature checks on fridge and chillers throughout the day.
To manage the Company premises and ensure that the site is tidy and litter free.
To ensure that the Company ‘No Smoking’ rules are adhered to.
To ensure any maintenance work on the Company building or machinery is carried out.
To be a key holder and ensure that all Company property is safe and secure at the end of a shift.
To ensure the Company equipment and vehicles are secure at the end of a shift.
In overseeing production the role involves picking, packing and stocking of meat products with a growing team.
To ensure that the factory and surrounding premises are left prepared for the following day’s production.
To check all employees sale items against the employees sale forms to ensure accurate information is reported on the form.
To report any possible security threats to the Senior Management.
To help the Office Sales Administrators in organising deliveries for the following day (training provided).
